Back to School Finds

I spent last weekend with my favorite blogger and friend Irene, from Learning with Mrs. Leeby!  It was just what I needed to get myself motivated to actually start thinking about school again.  Even if our discussions were more like vent sessions, I needed it!
I spent yesterday running around looking at school supplies and teacher supplies at different stores.  Honestly, there wasn't a TON of things that caught my eye (probably a good thing), but I still found things I HAD to have of course!
I went to Target and ran into this guy in the dollar section.  They didn't have much out since it was all on this cart.  In case you were wondering, yes, I totally opened a box to see what goodies were hiding in there.  I decided to come back, but not before picking up a couple things!
I like to use the sentence strips to write each kiddos name on, so they can use it when they are practicing their names!  I can also use the cards to choose helpers, etc.
Wal-Mart had lots of cute Scholastic games!  This rhyming puzzle game was only $2!  Perfect for our Word Work center!
I found this amazing lesson plan book at Wal-Mart too!  Now I know it is no Erin Condren, but it was perfect for the price and still totally cute!

Weekly plans can be quickly written down with enough room for a few extra details.  This is my way of planning.  I read over everything I will be teaching, then write a few quick notes for each lesson to reference back to.
A full calendar view for each month!
Spots for kids birthdays and daily schedule!  There were also important dates, a place to take notes, and much more!  For only $10!
These were not from Target or Wal-Mart, but I got them in the mail yesterday from Zulily and found them on Amazon (affiliate link) also!  They have tons of great deals!  The Eric Carle magnets will go PERFECT with my Brown Bear Pack!
I didn't take a picture of this, but I got this at Big Lots!  My room is tiny next year!  It is probably a good things because it will force me to be super organized!  I plan on storing extra supplies in it!  That means some label making is in my future! :)

Now it is your turn!  What have you found for the upcoming school year!?

  2. I need to make my way to big lots soon. I have been so focused on my classes this summer that I haven't thought too much yet about back to school prep. It is almost giving me a panic attack that it is mid-July and I have done nothing in my room. I bought those same scholastic games at Wal-mart as well. I have been watching the ads for Staples and Office Max. I try to go and get extra supplies as they are on sale.

    1. Haha! I'm trying to catch up too! I usually write down what I will be doing for that lesson. Then I don't have to read from anything during the lesson or look like I don't know what I'm doing ;)
