My kiddos had a blast learning about suffixes and prefixes!  I wasn't sure if they were going to understand it, but I made sure to read through the little reader included a few times, so they understood what I was talking about!  We would review each prefix and suffix on each page after we read it and discovered more examples.

We focused on some suffixes since we have been seeing those more often in our reading and writing.  I have noticed they drop those endings too when they read sometimes, so it was great to go over that again!
We did the -s suffix first.  We made a list of words and I drew what the word looked like without the -s and then what it meant with the -s ending. This really helped my kinders recognize what it really meant.

Then we did the suffix puzzles.  Each kiddo got an 's' puzzle piece and a singular word.  They cut out the pieces to form their new plural word.  They love cutting and gluing so I was so excited to have an activity included with this pack that had them do this.

After they cut and glued, they got a chance to write their new word!  Cutting, gluing, and writing...YES!  Some of my kiddos just wrote the word, but then one kiddo started writing a sentence.  I had some erasing just so they could write a sentence!  I love how my kiddos can differentiate on their own! :)

Don't you just love the excitement! Haha!

Overall, I was very please with this product!  We had a short week the week I did this, but I am going to continue introducing these to my kiddos to enhance their reading and writing skills!  I love the puzzles pieces because it really shows the kiddos how the words and letters "fit together" to make a new meaning to the word.
