Today we finished our snowmen that we started yesterday. Yesterday, we drew our snowmen and then painted them BUT we used special paint! We mixed shaving cream in the paint to make it puffy! I worked at a preschool camp ever summer in college and we ALWAYS added shaving cream...makes it more fun! :) Today, we cut out our snowmen's hat, nose, scarf, and nose! My kinders had so much fun making each part on their own! Check out our finished product!
Seriously, I totally recommend Snowmen at Night! We read it a couple times today because my kiddos just love it!
Hi, I found your blog through Mrs. Leeby's Giveaway. I am going to have to track down Snowmen at Night! I am new to blogging and am trying to organize a Winter Wonderland Exchange Project. It would be great if you'd be interested in joining us. For more info please look at firstgadecarousel.blogspot.com ~ Thanks, Maria
ReplyDeleteThanks for following! I will have to check that out sometime! Sounds interesting! :)
DeleteLOL - OK so I'm guilty too. I think I have 6-8 Copies of that book in my closet and I have NEVER read it. :( I am getting them out tomorrow and we are definately reading it! Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! Let me know what your kiddos think!
DeleteI was already planning on reading that next week, I love that project. I saw how to make puffy paint with shaving cream on pinterest, but I wasn't sure how well it really worked. Thanks for the example! I'll have to try that! Do you use the cheapy kind that comes out foamy instead of a gel??

It all depends on how much you use. We didn't use a ton just enough that the paint looked fluffy. If you use a lot when the paint dries it will look fluffy but be careful with touching it too much it can crumble off. I used the stuff that is already foamy...I think its called like Barbasol. That stuff will work the best! :)
