Rainbow Spiders

Here is an easy spider activity to try at home!

You'll need a coffee filter, markers, and water.  They colored the coffee filter first!  I told them they were making rainbow spiders, so they tried to use lots of colors.

Ideally, they would have colored the entire filter BUT this is how much they wanted to do which was fine.  The colors will spread in the next step.

Next, they put drops of water on their filter making the colors mix.  We let them dry then added legs and eyes.

We did this activity as a follow up and even read "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and had our spiders copy what the spider did in the book!
